Toronto Modern Home Tour

I’m in the midst of moving and I’m moving on up… yeah baby! Apartment shopping in the city can be very stressful but once you find the right space for you, it can be life changing. This past weekend I attended the Modern Home Tour in Toronto. Although affording one of these homes is a distant dream and nothing like the apartment I will be moving into, it certainly gave me the drive to work harder in my business so that I will eventually be able to move into a 1.3 million dollar home…eek.  Bring on more clients!

The Modern Home Tour is a great event that featured 6 beautiful homes this year. We started at 250 Manning Ave where we walked into a 3 level town home that was more than impressive from the outside. The inside was just as impressive with its spectacular design. My favourite part was the master bedroom. The whole top level consisted of a large open bedroom with a HUGE walk in closet and a bathroom fit for a queen.

We then went to 199 Albany Ave where we walked through an amazing garden. The home was remodelled so that the living room was transformed to include a large open retractable screen. It made the house and was one of the most unique features I had ever seen in a home.

My third favourite home was 133 Walmer Rd in the Annex. Half of the home was remodelled so it felt a bit like you were walking into two different homes. I liked this- a mix of the old with the new. The backyard was stunning to say the least and had me practically drooling.

The Modern Home Tour benefits the Red Door Family Shelter. I would definitely recommend taking this tour next year if not to see these amazing homes then to be inspired by the modern architecture. You might find yourself taking out the sledgehammer for some new renos!
