The Postal Service

A great feeling is seeing a band 10 years after they’ve been on hiatus. Recently I went to The Postal Service concert at the ACC here in Toronto. It was more than just a good time. For those of you who are not familiar with the band, they are a cross between Electronic Dance meets Indie meets Emo. It’s as if these three genres had a great one night stand and created the Postal Service as their love child.

The concert was great and the by the end of it had everyone on their feet dancing with large smiles across their faces. Their music was accompanied by the a light show that was pretty fantastic. Bright colours that were in tune with the beats hit the crowds giving it a high end dance club feel. It was not like any typical show I’ve been to before.

My favourite Postal Service song is called ‘Such Great Heights’. It is a fun song a cool upbeat vibe. You might find yourself busting a move by the end.

You might recognize the lead vocalist behind The Postal Service. Ben Gibbord is known for his stint as frontman for the band Death Cab For Cutie – another great band that you should check out if you haven’t already.
