Get your nails did

I’m a big fan of painted nails. Those of you who know me will probably roll their eyes at this comment as I tend to let the chips go a little too long. There has been many a times when I have found myself in the supply room at work with a black sharpie touching up my nails before a client meeting. (I love dark nails)… Very unprofessional but sometimes much needed to avoid judgement.

There are many nail trends for the 2013 season but a few in particular stand out and deserve mention.

The pointed edge: I love this look simply because it is different. I also commend anyone who can grow their nails long enough to be shaped this way. I first saw the pointed trend on my girlfriend’s nails when we were out to brunch. I think she may have been the first to pioneer it seeing this was ages ago. It’s an edgy look but when done right can be oh so tasteful…

Colour me GOLD: It’s a nail orgy and I’m ready to make love! The metallic look is stellar and I am a HUGE fan. I’m still on the lookout for OPI’s 24 Carat Gold polish. It is always sold out when hit up Sephora. It’s stunning and truly makes your nails a to-die-for accessory when out for an event.

Matte You Look: A matte finish with a shiny manicure is also a stunning look. I have even attempted a DIY version that actually turned out pretty good. Hint- clear tape. Essie now has a matte finish topcoat that will change any colour to matte. I usually use this with a super shiny topcoat. The contrast is awesome to say the least.

Get those nails did girls. The summer is fast approaching and these looks are far too hot to pass up!
