Facebook Woes

I recently had a mishap with Facebook. I tend to have a love-hate relationship with social media. I deal with it day in and day out at work and when I come home, the last thing I want to do it login to Facebook. Nonetheless, I do every day after I settle in for the evening and probably will continue to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, yada, yada, yada, it up for years to come.

My mishap…this is a bad one folks. I have a very close relationship with my step-mother. She’s a wonderful woman who I hate referring to as a step-mom. It sounds so Cinderellaesque. She’s my mom and will always be despite we look nothing alike and don’t share the same DNA. I recently told my step-mama about a guy problem I was having. A few days later, thinking she would check in, she thought she was private messaging me on Facebook and ended up posting to my wall for all of my 978 friends to see. I luckily caught it with 27 minutes but those were a long 27 minutes and who knows who seen it. At the end of the day it’s really not a big deal and no sweat of my brow. My grandmother is another one I have to watch. Yes – my 70 something grandmother has Facebook, shocking I know. In all truth – she looks about 50, acts about 30, and has a smile that melts my heart. She did something similar to step-mama once and rogue posted to the old FB. Talk about airing my dirty laundry.

My advice – Love your family and always be on the lookout for potential rogue Facebook messages before the social media world knows you business.
