Beauty: The Accent Nail

I’m a big fan of going down the street and getting my nailed shellacked for less than $30. It’s quick, easy and it gets me out of the house. The only downside is – what if rains? What if I spent that last bit of money I have on a pair of tres cher jeans and my nails have to sacrifice in the meantime? There is only one solution and that is to DIY. That being said, I have to paint my own nails and this could be a disaster. I have been known to pay no attention to detail. I have however been working on this and I completed a DIY nail project last night that just might blow Lady Gaga’s mind. I attempted to create an accent nail and boy oh boy did it turn out great!

First I painted my nails with a few coats of ARTDECO Light Cream. This nail polish is a dream. It goes on smooth and only requires a few coats. The colour is amazing and is very elegant for anyone attending a wedding. I would even recommend this colour for any future brides to be. One can dream…

After the coats dried, I used nail decals. you can purchase these just about anywhere. I got mine at Forever21.

Next I dipped each gem in clear nail polish so that they would stick to the accent nail. This requires patience and tweezers – naturally in that order.

Voila!

Lastly I went over each nail with clear nail polish to solidify the gems ensuring none would fall off. I really love this look. While some people think I jammed my ring finger in the door, others are admiring my crafty and stylish nature.
